Booking Channels

Sherlock includes various booking channels such as passenger apps, web portals, account management portals, kiosks, IVR and phone. All booking channels are a seamless part of the Sherlock ecosystem which means that accurate, real-time ETAs are given and are the same regardless of the booking channel used and accurate vehicle tracking is provided.

Mapping & Address Search

Google Maps is used for address search, routing and ETAs based on real road conditions, including live traffic information, which are updated dynamically to ensure accuracy. Additionally, Sherlock has experience in integrating with local address databases such as Royal Mail’s PAF, to find information not available via Google such as house names.

Driver App & Wages

Sherlock’s driver wages module accommodates various business models including owner drivers, company drivers, managed incentive schemes and credits. The system collects job amendments from the driver app and rent payments, meaning the process is automated and ops staff simply need to verify and approve wage statements, reducing human touch points where errors can be made.

Client Invoicing

Our client invoicing considers all flexible travel policies as they are implemented at an individual account level meaning invoice templates can be created according to different payment schedules and tailored to individual customer requirements such as different references and cost centres. Who owns Sherlock Taxi?

Sherlock Taxi is owned and developed by Haulmont Technology, the company that developed Addison Lee’s award-winning taxi dispatch system, Shamrock. Shamrock was the first taxi management solution of its kind and underpinned Addison Lee’s phenomenal growth from 1000 to 5000 drivers. The solution was developed around the ‘auto-allocator,’ a highly configurable dispatch engine which allowed Addison Lee to automate the allocation of jobs to drivers with complex operational needs.

Since its development, Sherlock Taxi has been created as a white-labelled taxi dispatch system for the wider market, taking the best features from Shamrock and adapting them to service the diverse market needs of the industry across the globe. A testament to this is Addison Lee’s acquisition of London’s black cab fleet and implementation of Sherlock for this fleet.

Do I need to pay for system updates?

We understand that customers want clear and predictable costs without hidden extras which is why we operate a simple Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) pricing model that is based on a per driver per month licence, that ensures costs are proportional to the size of your fleet. Committed to complete price transparency, our customers are charged based on how many drivers work in any given a month which means if you have less drivers working one month, then the price will drop to reflect this.

Regular product updates are included as part of the licence fee including large features such as new app updates, our Account Management Portal and Retention & Rewards Programme (bonus programme) - making Sherlock the only software partner you will need.

Why do you charge an implementation fee?

Sherlock is more than a simple off-the-shelf taxi dispatch solution. Sherlock is a highly configurable system which is adaptable to the varying needs of different businesses. Our implementation process and fee include a full business scoping exercise to allow our team to tailor your system to the operational goals of your business.

Our team will enable the settings within the system which are aligned to what you are trying to achieve, migrate data from your incumbent system such as customer/driver profiles and bookings, and train your team on using the new technology. Whether you choose onsite or cloud hosting, our team will facilitate a smooth transition to your new dispatch. Time spent by our team in the project set-up phase enables your business to benefit from a system truly tailored to your needs.

What if my business has very specific development needs?

Sherlock is a configurable and customisable software solution. This means that if there is something very business-specific that you need that we don’t already have in the system, there is the option to commission bespoke or custom development. Many of our clients have requested specific features to support their needs, for example, one client with a contract for passengers on cruise ships implemented a specific cruise ship terminal functionality to aid the booking process.

Additionally, Sherlock can integrate with any third-party vendor of your choice, and we have previously integrated with new credit card payment gateways to support clients in certain geographic territories.
