We’re delighted to announce our partnership with what3words today.
The new integration adds to Sherlock’s industry-leading suite of mapping technologies designed to pinpoint address search accuracy.
what3words is an easy way to identify precise locations. Every 3 metre square has been given a unique combination of three words: a what3words address. So, for example, if you were visiting Sherlock’s London office, you could simply type ///early.gasp.deflection to get directions to the exact entrance.
Use cases for what3words
If a customer gives lengthy or confusing directions to their pick-up or drop-off location then a what3words address could be useful. Scenarios to consider include:
-A hospital drop-off with multiple entrance points
-Construction sites such as HS2 in the UK which are yet to be properly addressed
-Sports or entertainment stadiums (many of which list what3words addresses for various entrance points already)
-Rural locations with larger postcode areas
-Countries with ‘patchy’ listed addresses / incomplete address databases
Using what3words, in conjunction with Sherlock’s suite of industry-leading mapping technologies means that your customers won’t be negatively impacted by driver routing issues and delays, leading to both better customer satisfaction and increased efficiency across your fleet.
